Amanda J Alvares | Hello Momma!

First, Congratulations!!

Congratulations Momma on your soon to be bundle of joy, motherhood is such an amazing journey! Thank you for choosing me to capture this special chapter before your whole life changes. This is a guide for what to expect for your session, please read it ALL! It may answer questions that are already floating around in your head! I may or may have not used the vendors in the links provided so please be sure to check them just like you would with any other online purchase.

... WHAT TO EXPECT...

TIMING:
If we haven't discussed this already, the best time to take maternity photos is between 28-34 weeks.  If your pregnancy has been difficult and uncomfortable you may want to schedule your maternity closer to 28-29 weeks.  If you are constantly being told your belly is tiny, you may want to wait until 32-34 weeks for your maternity session so your bump is more apparent.

SESSION LOCATION:
Start to think about your session destination! What type of background would you like? Do you even have a preference? If you have any special requests for a location or preference let me know right away so we can pick a spot. If the location is more than an hour away from Newman, California there may be travel fees associated with it so please ask.

Also remember when selecting a destination to take into consideration the season, weather conditions, and flower schedule.  Dec-March everything is usually dead while the grass is green and rain can become an issue which can cause last minute rescheduling. Apr-June things begin to bloom and rain becomes less of an issue, mustard flowers start blooming in March while lavender is usually in full bloom by mid-late May and lasts until the end of June.  July-Sept can be exceptionally hot with mosquitoes and the grass will turn from green to gold with little to no flowers in bloom.  Late October to Early November, the leaves begin to change color and fall - if you are looking for fall photos, early November is the best time.  Beaches are usually cold unless it's officially summer.

LOCATION IDEAS: LAKE, BEACH, WOODSY, CASTLE, RANCH, BARN, FIELD, WITH HORSE (EXTRA FEES APPLY).

Sample Of Dress Extension
WHAT TO WEAR:

I recommend that you pick a dress that is at least fitted around the breast and belly with a flowy bottom. If you want it to be loose fit under the breast, I recommend an open belly dress otherwise we will be trying to tighten it around your waist during the entire session to give you some shape. Please know that dresses with fitted cowls tend to roll up and be problematic - if you would like a cowl, look at the loose (almost wavy) looking ones that won't restrict your movement - they usually can be found on completely fitted gowns. If you go with open belly, PLEASE wear matching boy shorts or underwear so when you can see them they match the dress.  If you plan to go barefoot, be aware that the terrain may not be the most comfortable. Jewelry is always encouraged and layers for more casual outfits.  Remember, wear darker colors in areas you want to minimize and lighter colors in areas you want to highlight. If you are self conscious about your waist line, do not wear a SOLID light colored shirt - you will look bigger.  If you feel like you have a large booty, don't wear light colored pants - go with something darker.

Here's some places that I recommend for dress inspiration and/or purchase:
Etsy: Design By C Boutique
Etsy: Boutique by Agnes
Etsy: Sew Trendy
Etsy: Leah Maria Couture Shop

Dress Rentals:
BellaBelloBump Rentals

I also, have 3 dresses in my inventory (purple short sleeve with and sheer train, blue mermaid, and a white dress) available for use by my clients.  There are other dresses that I have access to as well for rent, just let me know what style and color you prefer and I'll see if it's available.

For partners and spouses, avoid distracting prints and logos unless it has a purpose.  Avoid wearing baseball hats, sunglasses, etc unless it's part of the "style" of your session or a prop. Pinterest is a great resource for "what to wear" and color combo ideas, go browse! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

WHAT TO BRING:
If you want props for your session, you will need to supply them yourself unless I happen to have what you want in my inventory so please check with me right away to see what I have, do not wait until the night before. If it’s an outdoor location and you plan to wear sandals or heels or go barefoot, please bring a pair of boots or sneakers just in case there is any hiking or rough terrain involved. This goes for anyone that may be accompanying you to your session, please make sure they are dressed appropriately.  Also know that anywhere with unmaintained grass, creeks, bushes, etc can have ticks or mosquitoes so please bring repellent!!  Bring water and snacks, especially if your session is in the hotter weather! If you plan to end your session in a creek, bring a towel and change of clothes!

Interested in using smoke bombs during your session? Check this site out! Grenades last the longest, buy more then one incase there's a dud!

WHO CAN COME:

I prefer that only people to be photographed come.  In the event that a mommy is getting photographed without the expecting daddy, she can definitely bring one person along - I have no issue with this, I just don't want to have an entourage of 4 people following us around as we shoot.  If there will be animals or small children present during the session please feel free to bring one adult or older teen to manage them when they are not in the photos being taken.

THE DAY BEFORE YOUR SESSION:
Anyone who will be present during the session needs to sign the below Service Contract.  If any person(s) are minors, one of their parents must sign this contract on their behalf.  Signatures can be done on your cell phone, just click the link!

FINAL PAYMENT:
The remaining balance is due the day of the session via Cash, Check or Venmo.  If you prefer to pay via Square let me know, all Square invoices must be paid by the night before your session date. Please let me know HOW you would like to pay so if necessary I can bill you.

IMAGE DELIVERY:
After our shoot, your unedited proofs are usually delivered within 1 week after the session date in an online gallery - you will be emailed or texted the link and password. Please READ the email for instructions on how to access and use your proofs gallery.  For a standard portrait session, your final gallery should be delivered in 2-5 weeks after you have notified me that you have made your selection for editing.

*Please note that when you receive your proof gallery you CANNOT post, screenshot, or share any of the images UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. THIS IS A VIOLATION OF THE SERVICE CONTRACT. If you are found sharing any images from the PROOFS gallery then you will risk not receiving your final edits and you will NOT be refunded.*

IMAGE DELIVERY EXCEPTIONS:
Please know that fantasy, zombie, dress extension, and unicorn edits take even more time than a standard session so you can be looking at receiving your final images more towards the five week period. I am a mother with two children so my schedule is not set in stone. I do my best to not deviate from the listed time periods, but in the event that I have something personal going on there may be a delay and I do my best to notify my clients of this.

IF FOR ANY REASON YOU NEED AN EXPEDITED IMAGE FOR A PARTY OR CELEBRATION THAT FALLS PRIOR TO THE FIVE WEEK DATE THEN LET ME KNOW SO WE CAN ARRANGE ONE IMAGE TO BE EXPEDITED FOR YOUR EVENT.
